A little bit about Skip.Skip is a big horse w/o being over bulky as so many of the halter bred
horses are. Skip has his DNA on file with AQHA and APHA. His genetic color makeup is: Red gene
ee/NCr/Aa/NN ~ This translates to Skip is a palomino that also carries the agouti gene. The
Agouti limits the distribution of the black points(mane, tail ,legs). He is very good with babies of
all ages, a complete non aggressive sweet talker with mares..
Skip loves attention from everyone . This is a trait he has been consistently passing on to his
foals. I have seen his foals walk up to people who are a bit unsure of horses just to say hi. Skip is
the pride and joy of Jeff. He believes that someday Skip will be his horse so until that day arrives
he rides him when time permits. Skip is foundation percentage with FQHA of 81.640625 . Based
on the process of FQHA, his percentage higher w/ NFQHA.
Training on Skip has been basic riding, he has been trained for heading ,heeling ,barrel racing. He
has the speed to do all of it as well as the power and body to be one awesome roping horse. The
biggest problem the roping trainer had for Skip on roping training was when he roped a cow off
of Skip the cow hit the end of the rope they could be flipped due to the brakes on Skip. He said
when that horse stops he stops. With Skip's speed and size, he can catch a cow, hit his breaks
when the cow has been roped. After that its over. Since I don't rope my comment to the trainer
was to rope bigger cows.
Skips foals are all hitting the age where they are now out in the world doing what they have
been bred to do, be a performer for their partners. Skips foals are working as rodeo, barrel
horses and rope horses. Currently we are the only owners of any of his colts that are still all boy.
